I have just installed Kubuntu on my desktop computer to get familiar with the KDE platform. I don't care for the native applications but will install my favorites like Thunderbird, Firefox... So far it seems to perform better than Ubuntu and has really nice eye-candy. If I can resolve some WiFi issues, I might test Kubuntu on the laptop also. I'm still a newbie when it comes to Linux but really like the the stability and performance.

I try Kubuntu 10.04 after reading this. Since I use Ubuntu for many years, i still not convinced to move to Kubuntu. And after using it for 6 hours, I still holding back to be converted to KDE fans. :(

Chromium is the last browser to use because Google is financed by the NSA, it uses all of the "nice" features to track what you do for them, and this is not just in Chrome, Chromium does it too. They also support the ACTA Treaty because it will allow them to steal every piece of Open Source / Free Software code they are claiming as their own now like Android and Chrome OS which are Linux kernel based with FreeBSD libraries instead of those generally used with Linux. Their doing this has already allowed for them to shaft Open Source and Free Software and will be the case even more so if the ACTA Treaty becomes a reality.

Firefox integrates perfectly fine into KDE. It opens applications helper or otherwise without any problems. One might have to tell it where the application is, but that is the same thing for any platform and browser. Firefox is also more powerful and stable then Chromium as well.

If you want everything you web surf and search on the Internet, including on other search engines besides Google's known by your respective countries' governments, and also sell out the community that brings you powerful tools like Linux, then go right ahead and use Chromium. Help governments monitor us and steal our rights to privacy and free speech in the process.
